Cul de Sac will perform original instrumental music accompaniment to two short films (one set at 2:30pm and another set at 3:45pm): The Snowman (Raymond Briggs’ family classic animated by Dianne Jackson) and Carrousel Boreal (Winter Carousel), a 1958 short by acclaimed animation pioneer Wladyslaw Starewicz. The band is performing along with HUNDREDS of other artists as part of Boston’t FIRST NIGHT, an annual family-friendly New Years Eve event in multiple locations across the city. SPLIT / SIGNAL is an audio-visual experience bringing together filmmakers and musicians for live collaborations. Held at the beautiful, newly opened Center for the Arts at the Armory (Somerville, MA –http://www.artsatthearmory.com), the musicians will perform live scores for original film and video projected on the big screen. These artists will be debuting new work created exclusively for Split / Signal:
